The four blood types and diet

Blood types are a basic typology. There are only 4 blood types in existence today with O being the oldest one, A following it as we developed through the ages, then B appearing in fairly recent times, and AB the newest one of the four.

Knowing your blood type can help you choose the most beneficial foods and will also list the foods that are not all that great for you. These choices are bvased on the way food constituents impact your blood and the absorption of nutrients.

Healthy people can use these guidelines if they want to increase energy or lose weight and stay in shape. When we are healthy we can take on the challenge of eating foods that are harder to digest because our body has the strength and resources to do so. It may cause us to feel drowsy, for example, but we will be able to eat everything in moderation without much of a bad effect.

When we are ill, any little bit of energy we can use for healing will help us feel better. Diet can help us at such times and it may be a good idea for to consider eating based on our blood type. The effect is felt within a week or two of starting to eat that way.

If you are suffering from a debilitating condition, you may want to discuss the implications of changing your diet with your therapist. Sudden changes in diet can shock the system and cause more damage than good. If too many changes will be required to eat based on your blood type, then it is advisable to start slowly, with the introduction of “Beneficial” foods you already like, but forget to eat, and ceasing the consumption of foods that are on your “Avoid” list and which you would anyway avoid. Then slowly continue shifting your diet to cover more of the blood type suggestions.
