Miasms
Article: "The Hereditary Miasms"
Today we know of seven hereditary diseases or miasms : Psora, Malaria, Tuberculosis, Ringworm, Sycosis, Cancer, Syphilis. They generally appear in that order.
Miasms are inherited chronic diseases that give rise to most other chronic conditions. We treat them in the above sequence with appropriate remedies. Treatment of the miasms begins after all timeline traumas have been removed. Each miasm usually requires about 4-6 weeks of healing period after the remedy is taken.
The clearing of the miasms is one of the main focal points of the whole treatment since their influence on our state of dis-ease is so great, creating both physical and mental-emotional distortions that ultimately cause us to fall ill.
Psora is the oldest infectious disease known to mankind and it first appeared as scabies or "the itch" a form of highly contagious skin disease. Psora induces in us a state of under-functioning (think of all the "hypo" conditions), lack of stamina, not enough of money… what we can call today "poverty mentality" on all levels has its source in the influence of psora.
Physically it manifests in dryness, generalized pains and skin rashes, lung irritation. Most chronic diseases have their source in Psora.
Its influence can be felt most strongly in the fall season when life starts winding down and preparing for the winter. We feel a bit depressed and tired as the days grow shorter and we prepare to hibernate. This leads to a typical general disgruntlement due to the unceasing requirements of our busy life and our need to rest as the season requires.
Malaria is based on the malaria disease. It follows psora closely and is characterized with sudden deep chills and prostration resembling a malaria attack. There is also a heightened sense of being wronged or even persecuted by others or by circumstance. Great tiredness and debility can occur usually towards the end of the day.
Tuberculosis is based on the disease of the same name and carries many of its characteristics. It is first felt strongly in early winter with its increased sense of tension and excitability combined quite often with great prostration and tiredness.
A desire for change is one of its great characteristics – an urge to travel, buy new things, re-arrange furniture suddenly overwhelms us – a feeling that all would be better (and it temporarily is) if only we could change this or that in our life.
Many of the chest colds and coughs begin at this time of year and are typical of the tubercular miasm.
Ringworm In the early months of the year ringworm can show itself in skin conditions of all sorts, mostly of a fungal nature. Quite often ringworm itself can appear at this time on the skin. Tiredness is accompanied by dull headaches and a sense of not wanting to do anything, but pushing on out of duty. This can create a lot of frustration and self-blame.
Sycosis This miasm arose from the gonorrhea disease. Since one of its main characteristics are warts, its name from Greek means "wart disease".
Excess is its main expression in all areas – our appetites are big for food, excitement, action: "sex, drugs and rock-‘n-roll".
Sycosis is the root cause of most "-itis" diseases with their inflammation and copious discharges. Memory problems and slowness are also typical and people often feel "dumb" and quite sensitive about it.
Its season is the spring with the early budding flowers, a time for growth, expansion, coming to life again.
Cancer Due to its prevalence and wide spread in recent decades, cancer is now well entrenched as a hereditary disease as well.
One of the most emotional and deeply suppressed states, characterized by the well-known description of "the life not lived", this miasm can express in an actual cancer but more often than not we find it in a state of mind where people tend to do for others, but not for themselves.
It is felt most strongly between spring and summer creating a state of introspection and tentativeness and insecurity, with a focus on family and emotional ties and relationships. We are sensitive and touchy and prone to deep re-evaluation.
Clearing this miasm helps focus our attention on ourselves with a strong emphasis on what is best for us and what is our true nature.
Syphilis This miasm was caused by the syphilis disease. It is the most destructive of all miasms, the only one that shows up in actual physical deformities in spine, teeth, missing organs, congenital disorders, ulcerations, auto-immune diseases.
On the mental level we see a split in our self, we are disconnected from our body. Most mental disease like manic depression, schizophrenia and addictive behaviors with strong self-destructive tendencies come from this miasm.
Its season is end of summer with its lush growth and decay – a theme of destruction is felt.
